Rebecca Ursule
Founder/President
Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and raised in Uganda, Rebecca Ursule is a humanitarian leader whose lived experience as a refugee has shaped her commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. After moving to the United States, she continued building a path rooted in education, advocacy, and public service.
Rebecca earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a focus on International Affairs and a minor in Marketing, from the University of Arizona’s W. A. Franke Honors College. She graduated magna cum laude with honors and received the Outstanding Transfer Student of the Year award in spring 2026. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Affairs at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.
Throughout her academic and professional journey, Rebecca has championed student voices and community participation. She represented more than 20,000 students as a Governing Board Representative at Pima Community College and later served on the University of Arizona’s Undergraduate Advisory Cabinet, contributing recommendations on academic programs, student services, and campus engagement.
Her commitment to young people continues through her work as an AmeriCorps Youth Facilitator at Washington Liberty High School, where she leads a fellowship program for 30 young people. Through workshops and mentoring, she helps participants develop cross-cultural understanding, explore global citizenship, and prepare for college and scholarship opportunities. As an Odyssey Board Member with StoryArts, she also helps bring diverse voices together through storytelling and community dialogue.
In September 2025, Rebecca founded Rehoboth Rescue Mission to support communities affected by conflict, disaster, and poverty. As Founder and President, she leads the organization’s strategic planning and guides the development of education, psychosocial support, vocational training, and conflict resolution programs. She also builds partnerships with community leaders, organizations, and donors to advance the mission.
Rebecca’s vision for Rehoboth Rescue Mission is grounded in dignity, opportunity, and the belief that communities can rebuild and thrive when they have meaningful support. Drawing on her personal journey and experience in community leadership, she is dedicated to helping people facing hardship build a more hopeful future.
